New UK access rental company
A new aerial lift rental company has been formed in the UK with the name Peak Platforms, a joint venture between Kayleigh Bowers and Pulse Hire.
Based in Wakefield, the Peak directors include Kayleigh Bowers, the wife of Luke Bowers who until recently was a senior director and shareholder in Aspire, Thomas Brook, Luke Jones and James Kynaston who are also directors of Pulse Hire.
Pulse Hire is based in Ossett, near Wakefield, Yorkshire, and started out in 2019 as a rental broker re-renting machines for its customers and apparently became a major source of revenues for Aspire. Pulse has a decent balance sheet and is now acquiring its own fleet of Sinoboom or Zoomlion booms and scissor lifts.

An announcement we received said: “Some may think it’s the wrong time to start a business, but the team has the contacts and the drive to make this a real success. Peak intends to open the first depot Manchester.

There is much that might be said about this move, which may have some knock-on repercussions for Aspire, however as we do not fully understand the details of the relationship between Pulse and Peak yet. We will refrain from doing so until we learn more.

@Eebygum and aspire out of HSS Onecall 🤣 Everybody starts somewhere I guess.

Them there Northerners are all up to the same tricks, are they all related?
It all centres on Ossett and Wakefield, Afi, Uplift, Lifterz, Horizon, Pulse , Peak, Aspire etc.
Lifterz and Horizon came out of AFI, Pulse came out of Horizon, Peak comes out of Aspire.
I think there are some more as well.
Strange lot, all at each other’s throats, there just must be too much money in this access rental game.

Ha thats a good joke you must be a KHL employee or you are blind (cwl)
......
I'd fire the editor. Constant gaffe's and typos on this website. Poor workmanship. You wouldn't see that happen on KHL.
Sorry Mr. Editor, but it needed to be said.
jon aubergine!
Hi,
I seem to remember that in our business, Vincent at Aspire used to be a department manager before owning a business, did he have directors experience Tim?
I think that as professionals, we should be wishing people luck in taking the plunge in setting a new business up, not finding ways to put them down!
Good luck Peak.

@ronaldo what a level headed comment finally, I’ve been repeating the same thing the whole time and this is a conclusion the proved me right. Wigs off to you Ronaldo

Lets face it we have no idea what other information these guys have, but based on their past performance I am guessing they know exactly what is going on here??? Thats why I check it most days. although some of your comments are silly and dont make much sense, I do agree with your last one- which I think hits the nail on the head. apart for the OK thing which detracts.. Think we might have more in common than not
Shan Dee
@ronaldo so if I register a company on companies house that has not publicly announced its trading intentions, contact info or business plan it’s fact? Sounds like bitter people from a previous employer trying to make a dig but it’s just ended in a laughing stock 🤣 Big Loss if so.
Good luck to Peak platforms IF….they are going into business. I look forward to the next OK Magazine article from Vertikal.
Ronaldo
As you said Shan this is not a rumour it is on companies house so fact
Shan Dee
@ronaldo just like your transfer rumours from man united 🤣
Ronaldo
Shan so if someone does not send something to the newspapers it cannot be published? If they do its poor journalism?? Sounds like you would be happy living in places where the suppress the news like Russia
Shan Dee
No formal announcement from either party mentioned. Just some documentation on companies house? No one’s business until they make it our business. Poor Journalism and whoever had this published is clearly panicked.

Thank you for your comment Tim Smith - Quite simply it seems that the press statement which appeared to represent Peak, was not in fact issued by the company.
We have to be clear and factual, and while we and others might have a view on the real life situation, we have been assured that Luke Bowers is not currently involved with Peak operationally. That may change of course but we can only state the facts that we have today. The slightly edited report is factual and we can always update as we learn more.

How come this article has been edited? It first said Luke Bowers was one of the directors/owners and then mentioned how he has all the contacts but then the article was edited and removed this information and now mentions his wife’s name?
So Pulse have gone into business with Luke Bowers wife? But Luke Bowers has the director experience?

Nice move by the Pulse boys. I imagine that the Aspire board are a little shell shocked to say the least. Double whammy?
