Death Wish 101

A reader sent us this most definite of Death Wishes earlier this week, one of the most suicidal ones we have seen so far, but we do not know when and where it happened. However it has a definite ‘Germanic’ feel to it.

It really does not require any commentary given it uses the wrong equipment in the wrong place and the wrong time with no attempt to ward off almost certain danger. It has to be one of the worst cases we have come across in the more than 180 Death wishes we have published since we started running the series. Please register to see all images

Suicidal Death Wish

Not only is it suicidal regardless of the conditions, it looks as though it is occurring at dusk, one of the most dangerous times on the road. The photo was taken from a car as it approached the ladder.

Be Safe at Easter

Much of the world takes off today for a long weekend to celebrate Easter, given the time of year many of you will of course be working on do it yourself projects at home, this is often where most risks are taken as we don't take the time to obtain the right work at height equipment. This is especially true at Easter when most rental companies are closed. Resist the temptation to 'make-do' the job will wait - it will have to if you end up dead or badly injured!

So keep safe work on low level gardening and return on Tuesday in one piece.
Best wishes for a happy Easter from the Vertikal team.

You have have not commented on the car drivers, I always thought it was against the law to drive over a pedestrian crossing when anyone was on it!
