Three injured while rigging

Three men are reported to have been injured while rigging a telescopic crane on a road job on the north side of Shepherdsville, Kentucky – just south of Louisville.

The crane - a larger Liebherr owned by rental company Sterett - appears ot have been lifting its Y-Guy supports when a sling or lifting eye failed dropping the components on to the deck of the crane, striking those helping guide the load. The emergency services were called in and three people were treated for injuries which, according to a statement from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman are non life threatening

Better stick to tower cranes, Mike.

Is it just me (a tower crane guy), or does the boom of this crane look somehowe subpar to the Y-Guy as well as rest of it's structure? Yes-I do see the amount of counterweight, yes-I did notice the double hydraulic piston and I get the picture of the number of axles, yet the boom itself still seems awkwardly smallish to me...
