Genie Z-62/40 TraX launch
Genie has launched the TraX version of its 62ft Z-62/40 articulating boom for the European region.
The new boom lift joins five existing Genie TraX models all of which are straight telescopic. The new model is powered by a new Deutz Stage V three cylinder turbo diesel and offers the same operating features of the regular wheeled model, with a twin sigma type riser topped by a two section telescopic boom and 1.5 metre jib with 135 degrees of articulation. As with the wheeled machine it offers a maximum working height of 20.9 metres with 12.4 metres of outreach at an up & over height of 7.8 metres with 227kg in the platform. Unlike the telescopic models the Z-62/40 TraX also has zero tail swing when working.

The new Genie Z-62/40 TraX
Four track TraX drive system offers low ground bearing pressures, the ability to cope with the worst terrain found on a job site and yet operates more like a wheeled machine in terms of manoeuvring and driving. Total weight is just under 12,500kg, roughly 2.25 tonnes heavier than the standard wheeled model, while the overall width is 2.58 metres – just 90mm wider than the wheeled version.
