10 more Liebherrs for Roxu

Spanish rental company Grúas Roxu has taken delivery of 10 new Liebherr All Terrain cranes as part of its fleet renewal and update programme.

The new package includes four 70 tonne four axle LTM 1070-4.2, three 110 tonne five axle LTM 1110-5.1 and two 150 tonne five section LTM 1150-5.3 along with a fully refurbished 500 tonne eight axle LTM 1500-8.1. Two years ago, Roxu took the world's first LTM 1110-5.1 to be delivered and now has four of them in its fleet.

Two LTM 170-4.2 and LTM 1110-5.1

President José Manuel García said: "The reason for our investment is nothing other than to renew our machinery fleet with new and innovative models from the Liebherr brand, which we have relied on for years. With a 60 metre telescopic boom and a compact chassis the LTM 1110-5.1 is a very versatile crane with an enormously high lifting capacity. These characteristics allow us to gain efficiency and competitiveness. We believe that it is the most technically complete crane in its class in all its parameters, and that is why it makes a clear difference for us. Grúas Roxu is looking for the best in every case, and that was the main reason why we chose this model."

"The LTM 1150-5.3 is equipped with hill start assist for manoeuvring on slopes and mountains. This innovative technology, combined with the TraXon transmission, is a great help for us due to the terrain conditions and topography of our region."

The refurbished LTM 1500-8.1

The new LTM 1500-8.1 went straight to work at a wind farm, lifting wind turbine components and joins the four other units of the same model in fleet.

Based in Meres, Asturias in northern Spain, Grúas Roxu was established in 1979 and now operates throughout Spain as well as Costa Rica. It runs a fleet of 172 cranes topped by two 1,600 tonne Liebherr LR 1600/2 crawler cranes, a 1,200 tonne LTR 11200 telescopic crawler and 1,200 tonne LTM 11200-9.1 All Terrain, along with an extensive aerial work platform and telehandler fleet.
