The crane boom sliced through the building's roof

The crane was working on the building of the new Lake Worth Multipurpose Facility next door when it went over. The crane’s boom was fully extended and swingaway extension fitted.

Local reports say that strong gusts of wind caused the crane to tip, however the photographs we have seen suggest that the ground gave way under the front nearside outrigger.

The house which dates from 1931 was recently moved to its new location in preparation for conversion to a museum.
