CTE Restructures
Italian truck mounted and spider lift manufacturer CTE has announced a major restructuring of its operations.
The most significant change is the restructuring of product support/customer service which will now be centralised at the company's Rovereto plant with a call centre staffed by engineers. The company is also adding mobile service vans to improve its on site service and appointing authorised workshops across Northern Italy to replace its own service depots in Dolo and S. Giuliano which are closing.
Sales and marketing functions will also be located in Rovereto, while the engineering department will be centralised at the Bertinoro site for all CTE owned brands, including CTE, Effer and Bizzocchi. This unit will include all design and manufacturing engineers.

The CTE Rovereto plant will now be dedicated to the mounting/assembling of Effer loader cranes for freeing up space at Effer production facility that has recently opened in Minerbio.
Along with these changes the company has announced that it has made an “important increase in the company's capital base, with an injection of €3.5 million into CTE SpA and Effer SpA, the two main operating companies within the Group.
The funds for the capital injection were largely raised by the €3.2 million sale and lease-back of the company’s headquarters building at Via Caproni 7 in Rovereto. The transaction was completed last week with the Province of Trentino, using its €570 million fund earmarked for supporting local employers during the current economic crisis.
As part of the deal CTE is committed to repurchase the property within 18 years, while renting the building in the interim. It is also committed to maintaining at least 45 head office jobs in Rovereto of the current 45 until 2015 and maintaining the current corporate structure and presence in the Trentino region.
The sale and lease on the 1,700 square metre office building were signed on Friday, June 25th between Lorenzo Cipriani, president of the CTE Group, and Diego Laner, managing director of Trentino Development.
Cipriani said: “We are confident that, by better reallocating our resources, we will obtain in a short time an increase in competitiveness which will enable us to grow in the market. It is precisely in times of difficulty, as the ones we are living in, that we must question ourselves and not be afraid of change in order to adapt to the new needs of the industry. We wanted to do this, and we will continue to convey our “Work becomes easy” belief to all of our employees, dealers, customer support centres and ultimately all the industry that allows us to better serve our customers”.
