First UK Multitel spider sale

Glasgow-based specialist spider platform company, Industrial Access Systems, has purchased the first Multitel SMX 225 spider lift in the UK. Unveiled at Bauma, the unit had its UK launch at Vertikal Days last month where John Wilson of Industrial Access Systems first saw the platform.

"It is the platform we've been looking for over quite a period of time," said Wilson. "It is capable of being transported on our existing trailer and towed by our existing vehicles. It has a great working envelope with up to 10 metres of outreach and lots of features such as 90 degree each way cage rotation, a Kubota water cooled engine and the versatilty for use both on inside and outside work.”

Multitel SMX225 at Vertikal Days

The unit was sold by Multitel’s UK dealer Access Industries.

“The response to the new unit at Vertikal Days was fantastic,” said Melvyn Else, Access Industries managing director. “Sales in Europe since Bauma have also really taken off with orders for 26 units already placed and a large multi-unit order from a French rental company is at an advanced stage of negotiation. It is the combination of weight, geometry, envelope, features and competitive price.”
