Safe Contractor accreditation for 2 Cousins

UK based aerial lift rental company 2 Cousins has gained the Safe Contractor accreditation.

The company, which is a key member of the Access Link, was helped in its accreditation process by the fact that it had gained the IPAF Rental Plus status and the fact that its uses a third party health & safety auditor.

The programme is widely used by a large number of large companies in the automotive and building services and facilities management sectors as well as a number of major contractors.

The programme is aimed to help large companies avoid the risk of employing suppliers or contractors who cannot prove that they have sound health and safety policies.

The approval process includes a look at an applicant’s health and safety procedures along with its track record, for safe practice.

While the number of accreditation programmes appears to be multiplying the better ones such as this will, hopefully, encourage contractors to employ solid rental company suppliers and avoid those who take short cuts. The key to it working is that the accreditation bodies keep their standards high.

Verification of a company’s practices by an independent third party such as IPAF is without doubt a good indicator.
