Man catapulted from lift

A 47-year-old man was catapulted out of the truck-mounted lift platform/bucket truck yesterday after it was stuck by a passing truck in Palmer Township, near Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Jesse Scott Leslie was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill and reported to be in “poor shape” on arrival. It is not known if his injuries are life threatening.

The accident occurred at a location close to the front of Palmer Park shopping Mall, where Leslie had been working on a traffic light. We understand that the truck that hit the platform had just turned into the street and the driver did not see the lifts platform/bucket.

We have not further details at this time, apart from a report that the lift itself did not tip over, suggesting that the man was not wearing a harness.
