Davis adds more rebuild services

UK based access and lifting parts specialist Davis Access is adding further controller and other electrical component rebuilds to its product range.

The company, which began offering controller and control box rebuilds and repairs last year, is now setting up a rebuild and service exchange programme for alternators, starter motors and battery chargers.

The company says that the controller rebuild programme has grown much faster than it expected. Its rebuilt controllers are around 30 to 45 percent less expensive than new ones and come with the same 12 month warranty.

As part of the service Davis is now also offering joystick diagnostics training courses. The course shows how to properly set up and adjust most controllers in use on access platforms. It also shows how to spot and fix faults that can be fixed in situ and when the controller needs to be replaced.

Andy Davis of Davis Access said: “We have been amazed at how fast demand for our rebuild service has grown. It does offer a substantial cost saving, but I think it is also becoming an environmental choice as well. A typical rebuild reuses most of the bulkier, weightier components which saves on recycling and freight.”

“Customers are now asking us if we can offer the service for other electrical components, so we are now extending the service. The training courses will also help company’s service engineers ensure that controllers are properly adjusted and help avoid the tendency to replace them any time there is a problem.”
