Mammoet takes KR Wind

Mammoet the Dutch based international heavy lift and transport company has acquired the 50 percent share of KR Wind that it does not already own.

The transaction was completed on January 10th making the Danish wind power lifting specialist a wholly owned division of Mammoet.

KR Wind was established in 2002 as a 50/50 joint venture between Mammoet and Danish Kranløft Danmark, part of the Enggaard Group. It moved into the USA in 2006 and has added a number of bolt-on acquisitions over the years to both extend its geographic coverage and its areas of expertise.

A statement from Mammoet said: “Through the acquisition the long-term links between the two companies have been tightened even further, and the positive synergy of this change is evident.”

“The combination of KR Wind’s deep knowledge and experience in the execution of wind turbine projects and Mammoet’s extensive worldwide network and resources will be a huge benefit to KR Wind and Mammoet’s present and future business partners.”

KR Wind specialises in the logistics, lifting and installation of wind turbines, it operates from locations in Denmark, Germany, Romania, Italy, Australia, Canada and the USA, with 360 employees. The Enggaards also own BMS, the Danish based crane and aerial lift rental company.

Mammoet has been owned since 2007 by Dutch financial holding company SHV.
