The tower struck the next building and buckled
The accident occurred in the Palermo district of the city on a 20 storey construction that had hardly begun. No one was hurt in the collapse but the roofs of four buildings were damaged.
It seems that the foundation literally pulled out of its ‘socket’ from the photos we
have been sent it looks as though the foundation used a combination of concrete plugs and piles. If you have any further information on what happened please do send it in.
