Gould goes again?

Bromsgrove, UK based Gould Plant Hire and Gould Contracts, two of the companies that emerged after the failure of Oktopus UK have now been placed into liquidation.

The companies were set up along with a number of other companies following the purchase of Oktopus UK Ltd by its previous owners in 2009.

The original new company was Oktopus Plant Hire Ltd, but owner Richard Gould had to relinquish the use of the Oktopus name and in 2010 changed it to Gould Plant Hire, while also setting up Gould Contracts. Both of which are now being liquidated.

A creditors meeting for Gould Plant Hire was held earlier this week, but we do not have any details yet of the outcome.

Gould owns a number of other companies, including Trickie Holdings, the owner of Gould Contracts and Gould Lifting and Hire services. We do know that a number of potential buyers have taken a look at the business, but do not yet know if a deal is in the offing or if the business will continue under another name.

Attempts to contact the company - the Gould Hire Group and Gould Plant Hire/Gould Contracts - have been unsuccessful with the phones remaining unanswered.

We will follow up and add to this report when we have more information.
