Kobelco goes green

Kobelco Cranes has released details of its new crawler crane models with new engine emission standards. Production of the new models will start this week for markets in North America and Europe.

Kobelco say that all cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 60 to 250 have been also been redesigned, upgraded and improved in the areas of safety, reliability and efficient operation.

The new G Series Kobelco crawlers - the CK1100G.


The new models are said to be more “transportation friendly”, “assembly friendly” and “operator friendly” as well as “environment friendly”.
-New engines are fully compliant with EPA Interim Tier IV and EURO stage IIIB. Rated output of the new engines has been upgraded from the previous series and tuned for the best fit in crane operations.
-The cranes are also offer up to 30 percent improved fuel consumption from previous models

The CK1100Gs bigger brother the Kobelco CK2750G


New models also incorporate a new energy-saving assist system, dubbed the ‘G Mode’ system. G Mode covers assist systems such as Auto Idle Stop – where the engine automatically stops when idling under certain conditions. Restart is possible by simply moving the accelerator grip. Energy Saving Winch Control, where the hoist winch can be turned at maximum speed without the engine accelerating during no-load hoisting. The company has also reduced the range of engine rpm, required to achieve the best performance in normal mode.

Compact design changes transportation duty By newly designing the structure of the machine, transportability has been greatly improved. A minimum 2.99 metre width and 45 tonnes for the main eases transportation.

Operator support system and new cab includes a counterweight detection device to ensure that the counterweight is installed for the load chart being used. Slew range detection and ground level sensors. The machine status is displayed on a new wide in cab monitor.

The new models up to 110 tonnes have an improved counterweight installation mechanism to improve safety and efficiency.
