Ruthmann reappoints Nummi

German based truck mounted lift manufacturer Ruthmann has reappointed Nummi Cranes OY as the sales and service dealer for its Steiger range of platforms in Finland.

Nummi was the Ruthmann distributor from 1987 when it was known as Lift Marketing Oy, becoming Nummi Cranes in 1989. The Pori based company sold and serviced Ruthmann throughout the 1990’s but in the new millennium focused more on loader crane service and then in 2008 made a disastrous foray into platform rental that resulted in it going through a reconstruction process.

More recently the company has returned to its roots of importing, selling and servicing aerial work platforms and loader cranes and now represents Chinese based aerial lift manufacturer JCHI as well as Ruthmann.

The company says it is an IPAF member and offers operator training from its locations in Pori, Helsinki and Tampere Jakotka. However it is no longer listed in the IPAF directory.

Nummi Cranes facility in the Pori region

Ruthmann said: “We are very excited about reactivating our alliance with Nummi Cranes. With this family-run business, we have teamed up with the perfect partner in order to attract new customer groups in Finland.”

In order to launch the new partnership Nummi Cranes is organising a road show with the 27 metre/3.5 tonne TB 270.

Nummi Cranes is owned and managed by Ari Nummi who started off in the crane business in Pori over 40 years ago. He has been involved with the crane and access business ever since, making his first ‘fortune’ as sales manager and a shareholder in Satalift, a truck mounted lift company that was acquired by Bronto Skylift in 1987.

Today his businesses include a new Satalift company, Finland Crane Inspection, one of the largest such companies in the country.
