Shawmut does an EnCORE

New England, USA, based Shawmut Equipment has joined Manitowoc Crane Care’s EnCORE remanufacturing programme.

Shawmut is now certified to fully remanufacture Grove, Manitowoc, National Crane and Potain cranes to original Manitowoc specifications, including all product updates and in line with the latest OSHA guidelines.

The company joins six other Manitowoc dealers in the United States to receive EnCORE Partner status. Including Aspen Equipment, Cowin, H&E Equipment Services, Hoffman Equipment, Ring Power Crane and Walter Payton Power Equipment.

To qualify for the programme, dealers must invest in the training of its technical staff, including advanced training and certification for welders to cover structural components on cranes and have a fully trained structural engineer on its staff to interface directly with Manitowoc on technical issues.

Shawmut president Dave O’Connell said: “We are pleased to be named Manitowoc Crane Care’s latest EnCORE Partner. This allows us to establish deeper relationships with our customers and help them get even more value and repair options for their Manitowoc cranes.”

Gilberto Ferreira, EnCORE director at Manitowoc added: “Our program will provide customers a cost-effective fleet management solution. Remanufacturing significantly extends the life of the crane and, because it is done in close collaboration with Manitowoc, customers are assured of the quality and reliability of the repairs. In fact, Manitowoc fully certifies the load charts of the remanufactured crane after completion. All at around half the cost of a new crane”

Shawmut is based in Manchester Connecticut, with branch operations in Massachusetts and Canada.
