With his departure imminent Bayona has yet to decide if he will look to remain in the access industry or try something new. He has been in his current job since January 2008, prior to which he worked a technical manager for Mecaplús subsidiary Insertia Tecnologías, which specialises in industrial automation. Before joining the group he worked in the technology sector.
Mecaplús designs and builds a fully on the go self-levelling self-propelled boom lift, the levelling technology was originally developed for the company’s tree pruning business where it brought massive productivity gains.
In 2009 it patented a new dynamic levelling system and launched new products which could be adapted to more mainstream general purpose applications, winning an IPAF Iapa award for the ME12Sl in 2010.
