Edmo Lift launches the Air range

UK based Edmo Lift has launched a new range of low level aerial work platforms under the AIR brand – standing for Access Innovations Range.

There will be four models in total, with 2.5 or three metre (8.25/9.9ft) platform heights both available in push around or self-propelled formats. All units use a simple telescopic mast to raise the platform all four units are indoor only and for firm level ground.

The Air Pilot and Air Pilot XL are available now, they weight 240 and 250kg respectively, are both 780mm wide by 1,217mm long and offer 180kg platform capacity.

The company says: “The products are intended for use in “clean locations” such as retailers, offices, hospitals and hotels where the emphasis needs to be on good unobtrusive design, ease of use and safety for both the user and anyone in the operating environment.”

The Air Drive and Air drive XL are due out later this year and include self-propelled drive and automatic braking on lift- the Air-pilot has lockable castors.

Edmo Lift is also rebranding its Tzip range as the Air Micro, Air MicroLite and the Air X2 scissor lift to create a seven unit product line.

Vertikal Comment

Edmo Lift make a beautifully finished product with a great deal of attention to detail, its biggest challenge though is distribution limiting its volume and keeping its prices on the high side. Although given the quality of the product this may be unfair.

The company may want to rethink the braking on the Air Pilot as many users now insist on automatic brakes, in order to stop their staff from ‘surfing’ – leaving the brakes off and pulling the machine along from the raised position.

The Air Drive will be a very interesting addition to the lower end of the self-propelled market. It will though have a lot of very good competition from the Power Tower Nano and the Bravi Leonardo to the Custom Hybrids and an increasing number of self-propelled push around scissors.
