Faber & Schnepp chooses Wolff
Wolffkran has sold and delivered a new 6031.8 clear flat top tower crane to German based contractor Faber & Schnepp its first Wolff crane.
The purchase was the result of the company winning the bid to build a new training centre for the municipal fire department of Frankfurt. Having been awarded the job, the Gießen based contractor started looking around. It visited a site in Dusseldorf to see a Wolff 6031.8 Clear in action and decided with the week.
Factors that swayed the company included cost-effectiveness, simplicity, speed of erection and the training that Wolff offered. “The 6031.8 clear is a very economical crane for its size”, said Carsten Druske, branch manager of Wolffkran’s Dortmund office “Another benefit of this crane is its maximum capacity of 8.5 tonnes and maximum jib length of 65 metres.

“This crane is our first Wolff and a completely new experience, says Thomas Matern, a site manager at Faber & Schnepp. All the feedback I have received so far about the 6031.8 clear from the employees on the construction site has been positive”.
The Frankfurt crane is set up with 65 metres of jib and 47 metre hook height on a cross frame base. Maximum capacity is 2.3 tonnes. Wolffkran supplied two crane erectors to help with the initial assembly, training the contractors staff as they went. Additional training is being provided for the crew before the crane is taken down. The new centre is due for completion late next year.
