New sales management structure at Snorkel

Aerial lift manufacturer Snorkel is introducing a new management structure to its international sales operations.

The new structure divides the world into specific sales regions, each of which will be controlled by a regional sales manager. The first change under this new plan is the division of the existing Europe, Middle East and African region into separate European and Middle East/Africa regions.

The Middle East and Africa is headed by Michael Wright from his base in Bahrain , while Enrique Garcia Delgado has been appointed as regional sales manager Europe which also includes the Russian Federation. He will support Snorkel’s district managers, who remain responsible for the identification, recruitment, and development of distributors in their territories.

Richard Tindale, global sales and marketing director for Snorkel, said: “Snorkel’s distributors are its business. The new regional sales managers will provide direction and support to the district managers, helping them to help our dealers grow and develop, and will ensure that strategic targets are achieved.”

“Enrique has proved he understands the distributor model and knows how to maximise its benefits for the customer, the distributor and of course Snorkel as the manufacturer.”

Delgado entered the access business in 2001 when fresh out of college, he joined Spanish sales and rental company, Termiser, an UpRight distributor at the time, as technical and after sales service manager. After five and a half years in the role quit the access industry to become managing director of the Cuban arm of Julio Crespo, a protective paint and coatings supplier/service company. He barely lasted 18 months before deciding to return to the access business, joining UpRight as an area product support manager at the start of 2008. Later that year, he was promoted to district manager for Southern Europe, with South America added a little while later. In the meantime UpRight had been acquired by Tanfield, and in the year that followed- 2007 – added Snorkel. He speaks fluent Spanish, English, Portuguese and Italian.

Delgado said: “As a former district manager I understand the challenges of the role and also its unique possibilities. I am looking forward to helping my colleagues make the most of the opportunity, as our industry returns to growth.”

Snorkel is now recruiting a regional sales manager for Latin America.
