Pagliero was established by Lorenzo and Giuseppina Pagliero in 1911, building farm carts and then trailers from wood and iron, later developing into a body builder for cars and trucks. An example of its early work as a body builder - a pick up body for a 1941 Fiat Balilla chassis as on display.

Platforms became an increasingly important part of the business and in 1985 the company decided to specialise in their design and production.

The business is still very much family run, the current directors, Renzo and Sandro are the grandsons of Lorenzo and Giuseppina - sons of Giorgio. A fourth generation of the family is now also very active in the company, which is the leading producer of truck mounted lifts at least in unit terms.

While the company has been a leading producer for many years, the introduction of the dual telescopic MX range of articulated low stowed height machines in 2006 took the company to new levels as they sold in their hundreds through the strong economic period that followed.
