Safway takes Waco Scaffolding

Safway Services has acquired Ohio based Waco Scaffolding & Equipment, a major manufacturer and provider of scaffolding equipment and services.

Wisconsin based Safway acquired the business in an auction held last week as part of Waco’s bankruptcy proceedings.

The sale was approved in the bankruptcy court on earlier this week and the deal is expected to close by the end of the month. Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Waco sells, rents, assembles and dismantles scaffolding and related access products for the construction and shipbuilding industries. The company was founded in 1945 and employs around 320 people in eight U.S. offices.

Safway chief executive Marc Wilson said: “Purchasing Waco is an excellent fit for Safway. The company has a long-standing reputation in the scaffolding business and many loyal customers.
