Windmill SDW

Sent in by a reader in Holland a set of photos from a windmill restoration somewhere in Zeeland, where the access equipment is so poor our respondent justifiable classified it as a Super Death Wish - SDW. And this in one of the world’s most sophisticated powered access markets.

A closer look reveals some of his handiwork - not a guardrail in sight

It shows that no matter how developed the market is, the powered access industry is nowhere near saturation or reaching full maturity. In this case the man working on the windmill has clearly ‘cobbled together’ every ladder and step ladder he has along with planks and rope to create some form of all round access.

Amazingly on one side we have a guardrail...

The risks of such methods are not only high, they are also grossly inefficient..
