Spanish tower

A reader in Spain spotted a small tube steel scaffold tower working on a house in the mountains but is it a Death Wish?

Standing eight metres high with the platform at six or seven metres, the tower certainly flouts most safety standards. Only two platform planks no toe boards, no guardrails, no access ladder – frames are not spaced or suitable for safe climbing.

A tower in Spain Death Wish or no?

On the plus side the tower looks as though it’s bracing it is set up reasonably well and it is tied-in to the building around halfway up. That’s about it…….

So is it a Death Wish? Well compared to most of the examples we see this is a relatively safe form of working at height although it would be condemned on most European construction sites. We think its borderline… let us know what you think.
