SC&RA last chance to enter for an award

The SC&RA today issued a last minute warning today that in order to enter one of your jobs in the Rigging job of year competition you must do it by Saturday March 12th!

As a public service the reminder is provided in full below, if you have carried out an exceptional job in the past year or so, then do enter.. you never know you might win!?

"The SC&RA is now accepting entries for the following awards, which will be presented during SC&RA's Annual Conference in Phoenix , Arizona :

•Rigging Jobs of the Year focuses on ingenuity, hard work, execution and adherence to safety considerations. Winners are selected in three categories: Under $150,000, Between $150,000-$750,000, and Over $750,000.

•Hauling Jobs of the Year stress shipment routing, planning, physical elements, safety considerations and execution. Winners are selected in three categories: Moving, Trucking under 160,000 pounds including cargo, and Trucking over 160,000 pounds including cargo.

•Golden Achievement award goes to the individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry and/or the Association.

•Truck Driver of the Year awards go to a professional driver who has demonstrated outstanding performance through a deed of heroism, highway courtesy or contribution to highway safety.

•Crane & Rigging Safety awards go to first and second place entrants in five categories, based on the amount of man-hours worked during the year. Safety Improvement Awards are also given to all entrants that show an improvement in their incidence rate from the previous year's contest entry. Zero Accident awards are also given in this category.

•Fleet Safety awards go to a motor carrier in five categories, based on mileage. Awards also will be given to entrants with zero recordable accidents and to entrants that can show a reduction in their accident frequency rate for miles traveled compared to their previous year accident rate.

•Million Miler awards go to professional drivers who have accumulated at least one million consecutive miles of safe driving.
