Hertz acquires in NY
Hertz Equipment Rental has acquired New York based general rental company Arpielle Equipment. Terms of the deal have not yet been released.
Arpielle, founded in 2004, is based in Long Island City and serves New York City and part of New Jersey. It runs a diverse fleet of equipment including a largely JLG aerial lift and compact telehandler fleet and has annual revenues of around $25 million
The company is also said to be New York’s largest supplier of Diesel Particulate Filters, an increasingly important requirement for in-city work.

Hertz chief executive Mark Frissora said:"Arpielle is our fifth acquisition in the past twelve months, and another significant step in our commitment to diversify geographically as well as to expand our product and service portfolio. Arpielle gives us an even larger footprint in the metropolitan New York City equipment rental market, the largest in the nation and access to a broader range of contractor business and larger infrastructure projects.”
“While the acquisition increases our overall market share immediately, we will begin supplementing Arpielle's equipment offerings with the larger earthmoving pieces, aerial booms, generators and pumps in our fleet. Arpielle also has a proprietary leadership position in renting and selling Diesel Particulate Filters, which helps increase asset utilisation and significantly reduce emissions, and furthers our goal to lead the equipment rental industry in sustainability solutions for its customers.”
