CTE to launch new ZED 21JH

Italian truck mounted lift manufacturer CTE will launch a new 21 metre articulated 3.5 tonne truck mounted lift next month.

While the company is not officially exhibiting at Intermat it says that it will have one of the new truck mounts on the IPAF demo stand at the exhibition.

The new model, the ZED 21JH, is based on the popular Zed 21J but has a completely new boom and riser assembly, which is both more compact and lighter in weight of that on the 21J. The articulated jib has also been redesigned to offer 145 degrees of articulation, compared to 110 degrees on the old model.
The more compact boom assembly means the truck's overall height has been reduced from 2.85 metres to 2.6 metres. Overall length remains at 6.8 metres and width 2.1 metres.

The differences between the old lift mechanism (R) and new one are clear.

However the biggest change is the 300kg unrestricted platform capacity, while up and over reach is nine metres and the working outreach around 9.5 metres.

CTE uses its mechanical link ‘H’ stabilisation system, which deploys the beam and outrigger in one movement which it says can cope with differences in levels, such as pavements/sidewalks of up to 220mm. With outriggers deployed they are not within the machine width but provide an overall width of just under three metres. All hoses and cables are internal and a new basket control panel makes operation easier and improves visibility.

“The new ZED 21 JH is the result of the continuous improvement in CTE platforms,” said Luca Piovan, CTE marketing director. “The platform is ready to meet the demands of European customers and through the use of new materials, the ZED 21JH is able to attain even better performance.”
