Demag double in Germany
German port and industrial crane manufacturer Demag Cranes has received two crane orders from German ports.
The first order for a Gottwald GHMK 6407 mobile harbour crane is from energy supplier Heilbronner Versorgungs. The mobile harbour crane will be supplied complete with a spreader and used in the port on the river Neckar for loading and unloading the river barges as well as handling containers at the terminal.

The second order is for a GHMK 8610 and a GHMK 3405 mobile harbour cranes to heavy duty port operator Rendsburg Port Authority. Located in Osterrönfield the cranes will be set up on the Kiel Canal for handling project cargo – in particular large components for wind energy installations.
The cranes will work in tandem with each other with the smaller 100 tonne HMK 3405 supporting the larger 150 tonne capacity 8610. Herwig Schröder, managing director of Rendsburg Port Authority said: “In tandem operation the two Gottwald cranes have a lifting capacity of up to 250 tonnes which is more than any other mobile harbour crane combination in Schleswig-Holstein.”
