Kalmar Industries president and CEO Christer Granskog cited the companies’ “good customer service” and “long-standing experience in the rental business” as major reasons for the acquisition.

“The acquisition also reflects our intention to become more directly involved in one of the world’s most active ports,” he continued. Managing director of the acquired companies Ad Kornet and the 37 other employees will continue in their positions.

Kalmar, which was a previously a minority shareholder in the two companies, now owns up to two thirds of the companies’ shares, according to Granskog.
