GGR help for heroes
Spider crane and lifting equipment specialist GGR group is sponsoring this year’s Help for Heroes European 4x4 Rally as an official corporate partner.
A maximum of 45 vehicles, crewed by both serving members and veterans of the armed forces as well as civilians and their families, will follow the 2,000 mile route of the 1944/45 Allied liberation trail across Europe, in a non-speed format with stops at places of historical interest. The rally sets off from Wiltshire on Saturday June 16th and will visit six countries in 12 days ending at Eagle’s Nest, Adolf Hitler’s mountain retreat in Bavaria, Germany.

The teams will be fundraising along the way and the money they raise will go towards supporting British troops who have been wounded whilst on military service. Since the annual rally began in 2010, the organisers have raised over £380,000. GGR says that it hopes that its support will help make this year’s event the most successful yet.

Chief executive Graeme Riley said: “We’re excited about being an official partner of this event and hope our support will help the charity to raise as much money as possible. Help the Heroes is a great cause and fitting for us because we have several members of staff who are ex-forces.”
