Telehandler tips

A telehandler has overturned in Perth Australia, while pick & carrying a suspended load – a large formwork panel.

The telehandler a mid-range Merlo fixed frame model appears to have been moving or lifting the panel at a far greater height that was necessary and may also have strayed off of the concrete track.

With a large surface area load at that height and then not level, the chances of an overturn are significant.

We are told that the incident occurred at the Perth Arena, on the site of the old Perth Entertainment Centre. The project has been in trouble in recent weeks by a scaffolders strike/walkout and other issues. Fortunately we understand that no one was hurt in the incident and any damage is likely to be light.
