Seven for Saudi

Danish aerial lift manufacturer Omme Lift has shipped seven 19 metre tracked spider lifts to Saudi Arabia.

The lifts have been sold by Omme distributor Masa Equipment Company in Riyadh for maintenance work at the new campus of the Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University for Women.

The seven units are all 1930 RXBD bi-energy units with both battery and diesel power for indoor and outdoor. The machines offer 10.2 metres of outreach with the full 200kg unrestricted platform capacity – a factor that was considered important for this contract.

The university, located on King Khalid International Airport Road to the north of Riyadh, covers 8 million square metres. Around 3 million square metres of the site is covered with buildings, including administration buildings, 13 faculties, a 700-bed training hospital, laboratories, research centres and a residential area that includes accommodation for students and staff. The capacity of the university is around 40,000 students with 12,000 staff. The campus also features the world's largest Automated People Mover railway a total length of 14km, 33 trains and a capacity of 7,000 passengers/hour.
