New 19m boom from Kesla

Kesla OYj, the Finnish producer of lightweight self propelled All Terrain booms, has announced the launch of the XS190, a 19 metre self propelled straight boom. The new unit joins the XS240 launched at Bauma last year.

The new unit is the result of a two year research and development programme and will be shown for the first time at the APEX exhibition in September.

The Kesla XS190

As with other booms from Kesla, the XS190 is self propelled in the stowed position, and needs to deploy outriggers and level itself before the boom can be raised. Four wheel steer is standard.

The advantage of this type of lift is a relatively high travel speed, very light weight, of only 3.700 kgs and excellent rough terrain capability. They are ideal for applications such as forestry work, tree trimming and maintenance in environments such as golf clubs and other outdoor sports facilities in addition to traditional construction.

The platform controls and outriggers are fully hydraulic for simplicity and ruggedness. The platform offers a two man, 230 kg lift capacity and is equipped with a standard load control system, as is now required by EN280. Maximum transport length is 6.3 metres with a width of 2.1 metres.
