Swedish hoist agreement for Fraco

Canadian mast climber manufacturer Fraco has agreed a strategic alliance with Krister Kempainen’s Swehoist, which will see the manufacturer build Kempainen’s hoists in Canada.

Kempainen is a veteran of the hoist market, having been chief executive of Alimak, and more recently of Geda Sweden until the German company closed its production facility in Skellefteå at the end of 2009.

The deal between Fraco president Armand Rainville and Kempainen, is the result of more than two years of discussions between the two men and will see the production of the Swedish designed products at Fraco’s facility to the Southeast of Montreal, using locally sourced raw materials and components.

Rainville said: “This partnership allows Fraco to take firm and permanent position in a market which we have sought to pierce over the last six years. To be associated with an expert such as Krister is a real dose of incredible adrenaline for Fraco’s employees. This partnership is a huge step forward for Fraco and is consistent with the strategic plan put forward for the economic recovery.”

Kempanien added: “The presence of Fraco in natural markets for construction elevators and industrial lifts will greatly facilitate the return of Swedish technology to North America. I have been in Quebec for a month and I see daily the huge market potential.”
