Fall from scissor
A man fell several metres from a large scissor lift yesterday on a site in Bergen, Norway.
Three Swedish men in their 20s were installing glass panels to the façade of a new building from a large JLG Liftlux heavy duty scissor lift rented from Cramo.
The men were said to have been at a height of around four to five metres. The man that fell claims that the scissor lift’s gate suddenly opened causing him to fall out. The incident occurred after dark and according to local reports at around 20:00.

It is almost unheard of for a platform gate to suddenly open, what is far more common is that lazy users will strap a spring loaded gate open for convenience, or in some cases poor housekeeping – with large amounts of debris left on the platform floor can cause the gate to jam.
Leaving the gate open for whatever reason is not a good idea at any time, however on a dark wet Norwegian night in November it is pure folly – so hopefully that is not what happened – the odds however point in one direction. And the photo we have been sent taken after the incident shows the gate closed and guardrails appear to be intact.
The good news here is that the man is apparently not seriously injured.
