Genie upgrades Z45
Genie has upgraded its Z-45/25 RT rough terrain articulated boom lift. The updated 45ft boom is currently entering production in North America but the CE version will not be available until mid next year.
Main improvements include an updated drive train said to produce 24 percent more tractive effort than the previous model. Genie has also reduced the machine’s weight by 498kg. The machine's working envelope and capacity remain unchanged.

Genie has upgraded its Z-45/25
Starting in April 2013, the Z-45/25 RT will be offered with either Deutz or Perkins Tier 4 Final compliant engines and will continue to be available with dual fuel and bi-energy power packs.
“The new Z-45/25 RT has been redesigned to satisfy the current needs of our rental customers by meeting the latest performance standards,” said Mike Northcott, booms product manager. “By improving performance and streamlining equipment service, the Z-45/25 will be an even better solution for the challenges of today’s jobsites.”
Genie says the upgraded lift also has larger service doors and swing out trays provide faster and easier access to the front and back of the engine compartment, as well as to filters and electrical components for faster maintenance and troubleshooting. Cost of ownership is reduced through less expensive replacement parts, such as the unit’s smaller standard tires, and increased parts and component commonality.
