Lindum takes Niftylifts

Lincolnshire, UK based access and construction rental company Lindum Plant has taken delivery its first 17 metre Niftylift HR17 and 21 metre HR21 hybrid self-propelled boom lifts.

Tom Robinson, director of Lindum Plant, said: “At just 4,750kg for the HR17 and well under 6,500kg for the HR21, these machines are substantially lighter than other manufacturer’s machines with equivalent working heights. This means we can save on transport while offering customers lower point loadings. The machines also have the SiOPS operator protection system and hybrid power source as standard and I am convinced we will be able to achieve a better return for our investment by offering equipment with a lower carbon footprint.”

Both the HR17 and HR21 hybrid platforms are powered by a Tier 4/ Stage IIIB engine coupled with an electric motor. Niftylift claims the system delivers a five percent increase in power to weight ratio and about a 40 to 50 percent saving in fuel. The exhaust purification system – which includes a catalytic converter and particulate filter – also removes up to 60 percent of particulates, 80 percent of hydrocarbons and 90 percent of carbon monoxide.

Tim Ward of Niftylift said: “It is clear to us at Niftylift that carbon footprint will become increasingly important within the construction industry not only here in the UK but to our customers worldwide. It’s great to see that a company of Lindum Plant’s size shares that vision of where the market is heading.”

Lindum Plant is the rental division of UK construction company the Lindum group which provides a wide range of operated or self-drive access equipment, telehandlers and excavators. Established in 1956, the company’s main focus involves the construction of new builds, refurbishment and maintenance projects.
