JCB ton for Ambrose

UK rental company Ambrose Plant Hire has bought 100 new JCB models including 75 telescopic handlers and 25 excavators. The Preston-based hirer has added telehandlers from across the entire range and excavators from 1.5 to 13 tonnes.

UK rental company Ambrose Plant Hire has bought 100 new JCB models including 75 telescopic handlers.

Ambrose Plant Hire managing director, Richard Sykes said: “We have an extremely positive and longstanding relationship with our dealer Gunn JCB going back over 20 years and the overall package offered was outstanding – exceeding what was available elsewhere.

“Increasingly, the customers we work with - particularly the major house builders - now look for hirers to provide more than just basic machines. With demanding service level agreements it is essentially a fleet management and total support solution that is required. JCB’s product offering – which includes aftersales support, air conditioned cabs, built in security and the excellent LiveLink telematics system -helps us to deliver to those standards.”

Across its four depots, Ambrose currently operates a fleet of approximately 750 machines – one third is JCB – and includes 270 telescopic handlers from four metres to 17 metres. The company has invested £3.7 million this year offering equipment to contracts from Cumbria and North Yorkshire down into the Midlands north of the M25.
