New facility for Standard Crane
US gantry and overhead crane manufacturer Standard Crane & Hoist has opened a new 1,170 square metre manufacturing facility in Gray, Louisiana.
The company said the reason behind building the new $1.1 million facility was due to its manufacturing plant in Destrehan being unable to cope with the continued growth in demand. The new facility will allow the company to construct all types of overhead cranes and will provide approximately 50 new jobs.
Standard Crane president Mac Hadden said: “Prior to this crane manufacturing plant being put into service all large cranes being used in Louisiana had been manufactured out of state. There were none made here, this is no longer the case.”
