Palfinger plans big truck mounts for 2013
Palfinger is expected to launch a number of new large truck mounted lifts at Bauma this year including the WT900, a 90 metre unit on a 48 tonne chassis.
The news has leaked out in a newsletter from German rental company Gerken, which claims to be the lead customer for the new lift. So far we do not have any detailed confirmation from Palfinger.

Boom details for the new 90m Palfinger boom from Gerkens newsletter
The newsletter says: "Another highlight of our investments for 2013 will come from Palfinger, the new 90 metre aerial platform will complement our large equipment fleet and expand our leadership in the area of truck mounted platforms above 60 metres working height even further."
Apparently the new machine will be mounted on a 48 tonne MAN with an up and over height of around 60 metres with a maximum outreach of 32 metres. The boom dimensions are shown as being 1,070 high by 800mm wide, substantially larger than the most 70 metre units.
The new 90 metre is expected to replace Palfinger’s current WT850 and become the company’s largest machine on a standard commercial chassis – its 103 metre unit is mounted on a Faun crane carrier.
Palfinger has been asked for more information but has mildly denied that it has any intention of launching a WT900 this year?
