Wanted good home for old crane
The Samuel Tabas Family Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization, seeks a home for a 55-ton Bay City truck crane, complete with all of the accessories including a bucket and 100 foot boom. The crane has been stored inside for the past 30 years and is unusual in its state of preservation.

The crane was extensively used by the Acorn Iron and Supply Company of Philadelphia for structural steel erection, including steel work at the White House. Samuel Tabas, the founder of Acorn Iron and Supply Company also started the Foundation in 1962.
The crane operated until approximately 1975, when it was retired and donated to the Foundation. Although the crane has not been started up in the last eight years but it is believed to be in good running condition. There are also a large number of new spare parts with it..
Lee Tabas, one of the trustees of the Foundation said: "The crane has sentimental value to us, and is unusual in that it has always been garaged, and therefore has minimal rust but a lot of dust. We are offering the crane free to a substantial museum or organization that will preserve or restore it."
Tabas also stated that the Foundation may be willing to provide a grant to cover some moving or restoration costs.
