ACM truck mounts for Boom
The Boom Sherrin division of Australian based rental company Boom Logistics has purchased 16 new truck mounted ‘Travel Tower’ lifts from Australian Crane & Machinery (ACM).
The Travel Towers have working heights ranging from 25 to 42 metres, the smallest of which – the ACM250 and ACM300 are assembled in Melbourne by ACM, the 42 metre units are built by Pagliero Multitel. Boom Sherrin runs a fleet of around 1,800 aerial lifts, including more than 300 truck mounted units.
All units comply with EN280 and AS1418.10 and include an automatic platform stow and ‘return to safe’ function.

The new lifts are also equipped with a Remote Access Response System (RARS) which allows technicians to trouble shoot any issues remotely anywhere in Australia within the mobile phone network coverage. The Engineer can conduct a full fault check on the machine, check the recent movements in case of a safety breach or unsafe work practices by the operator. A wireless camera is also fitted in the cab, allowing the technician can also see for themselves what is happening. ACM says that this allows a majority of service problems to be addressed directly from its Victoria headquarters.
Boom Sherrin said: “As part of the decision making process the company was looking for quality, reliability and equipment with a proven track record that can handle the rigours of the harsh Australian environment with a focus to maintaining Boom Sherrins reputation as the safest and leading man-lifting solutions provider in Australia.”
