Lifetime Achievement award for McArdle

Harry McArdle of Height for Hire/Easi Uplifts has received an IAPA lifetime achievement award, while Steve Couling, managing director of Versalift UK took over as president of IPAF at the IPAF summit and awards dinner last night. Full IAPA results are published below.

Steve Couling, managing director of Versalift UK took over as president of IPAF from Wayne Lawson at the IPAF summit yesterday, for a two year term. Lawsons hand over also marks his retirement from JLG.

In the evening the annual IAPA awards were presented, and included a lifetime achievement award for Harry McArdle, founder of Irish based international rental company Height for Hire and Easi Uplifts.

Presenting the award Couling said: “He was one of the first entrepreneurs to take access seriously as a rental business, he is also quick to see new opportunities in products and markets, seeing, for example, the potential of large truck mounted platforms as well as other specialist forms of access.”

ReachCraft for the PowerLift.

Award for Outstanding after Sales Service:
Independent Parts & Service (IPS), UK.

Contribution to Safe Working at Height:
AFI-Uplift, UK.

IPAF Safety Champion:
Kevin O’Shea, Mastclimbers, USA.
Highly Commended:- Peter Douglas, Nationwide Platforms, UK.

Access Project of the Year:
Scanclimber, Finland, for its provision of mast climbing equipment to help refurbish the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.

Access Rental Company of the Year:
Industrial Access, Romania.
