500 tonne for Deep South
US crane rental company Deep South Crane of Pensacola, Florida has taken delivery of a 500 tonne Terex AC 500-2 All Terrain crane from Terex crane distributor Renegar-Driggers.
The eight-axle AC 500-2 has a 56 metre main boom and when combined with its 90 metre luffing jib provides a maximum under-hook height of 145 metres. It is also equipped with Terex’s Sideways Superlift system. It’s debut lift will involve lifting and positioning a 72 tonne boiler at a radius of 18 metres at a new hydrogen plant in Pensacola.
Deep South Cranes’ vice president Jimmy White said: “The AC 500-2 was chosen for its excellent crane charts and travel weights, but in particular for its high performance luffing jib. Another reason instrumental to the purchase is the excellent relationship and support provided by Renegar-Driggers.”

“This latest investment means we now have the capacity and flexibility to lift bigger and heavier loads within our 400 mile operating radius. It fills a gap in the market and gives us a competitive advantage which is borne out by the fact that we are already quoting for this machine on a daily basis.”
