Two electrocuted in Kentucky

Two men were electrocuted yesterday after the platform they were using came into contact with overhead power lines in the small town of Cynthiana, Kentucky to the north east of Lexington.

The men, said to be builders, were apparently working on a new home in the area and using a JLG 800A articulated boom lift and were almost directly under the wires when the incident occurred.

The incident also took out the power to the local area, Kentucky Utilities are helping with the investigation into what happened.

Vertikal Comment

Another tragic electrocution incident, the power lines are clearly visible in the photo we have been sent, even though it has clearly been taken from some distance away. Additional emphasis needs to be placed on this problem during training and hand over and perhaps there is a case now for looking at a more cost effective warning device?
