Man thrown from bucket truck
A man was hurt yesterday after he was thrown from the truck mounted aerial lift he was working from in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, when it was hit by a pick-up truck.
The bucket truck was being used by a three man crew to install signs on behalf of the Oklahoma department of transport, and was working from a grass verge alongside Highway 412 on the edge of town. The pick-up, driven by a James Martin, 59, smashed into the back of the lift, after he suffered a ‘medical episode’.

Warning cones had been placed behind the lift which was working at a height of around four metres or so with Gearl Ragsdale, 57 in the basket. He was catapulted out of the platform and suffered serious injuries from his fall, but is said to be in a stable condition.
It would appear that either Ragsdale was not wearing a harness and lanyard – or the lanyard was not attached - or the lanyard anchor point failed?
