JLG combines telehandler and aerial work platform manufacture
USA manufacturer JLG Industries has announced that it will close down its Orrville facility.
The facility, which had produced the Gradall telescopic handler, is to be integrated into the McConnellsburg site where JLG’s aerial work platforms are made.
Chief executive Bill Lasky explained that this was a response to the ‘slow economic period’. “Integrating the production of telehandlers with aerial work platforms will further leverage out competencies in manufacturing excellence” he went on. “ The combination. will better position JLG for the eventual upturn in the economy.”
Ninety JLG jobs are likely to be lost in the next eight months.
