Hiab to show 1055 at Vertikal Days

Hiab has sold a new 1055 model loader crane to UK based Gatwick Plant Hire, with delivery scheduled after Vertikal Days.

Mounted on a four axle Scania R480 truck it can handle 3,450kg at 19.4 metre radius on the main boom and 1,020kg at 30.5 metres on the fly jib. The company says that the 1055 is suited to situations in which access is restricted and a long reach is needed. The ability to articulate the jib in relation to the main boom provides added versatility, enabling the crane to reach under obstructions such as power lines or into situations below ground level.

The crane has exceptional versatility and reach with its two part articulated boom and jib.

The 1055 also has a new infinitely variable leg system (VSL-V) which allows the vehicle to be short-rigged to fit into tighter spaces, automatically adjusting the load chart to match the stabiliser leg extension. Wireless remote controls are also included.

The truck has a payload of up to six tonnes and a deck length of eight metres, enabling it to carry loads of up to 11 metres long within its maximum legal length using its extendable platform.

The 1055 has fully variable outrigger positioning which automatically adjusts the load chart to suit the exact outrigger footpring

John Abbott, Hiab regional manager for the South of England, said: "We are delighted to see this superb new crane go into service with such a highly regarded company as Gatwick Plant Hire. Its capacity and flexibility will enable it to be used on a wide variety of tasks where it will prove to be a very efficient and productive piece of equipment."
