More investment from AFI
AFI has made a substantial investment in new boom lifts, as well as in its delivery and service van fleet.
The company has purchased 35 new Niftylift self–propelled boom lifts, including five 63ft platform height HR21 4x4 hybrid models, and number of the manufacturer’s 26ft HR10, 33ft HR12 and 43ft HR15N models.
At the same time the company has invested in 21 new 16 and 26 tonne MAN and DAF truck and tractor units, equipped with 12 new King trailers and nine heavy duty plant bodies from Sterling, both of which have been customised to suit the rental company’s requirements. These include four-fold ramps that create less drag and therefore achieve better fuel economy and lower emissions and a number of integrated safety features, such as fall protection and side walkways.

All of the new trucks conform to the latest European standards on emissions and are fitted with sophisticated telemetry systems to enable AFI to monitor vehicle and driver performance. The move is aimed to help improve driving styles, in order to provide important safety, fuel efficiency and emission reduction benefits.
AFI has bought a further seven Citroën Berlingo Enterprise vans to further reduce the carbon footprint of its service van fleet.
